Why a bargain? Its plastic, not chromed metal. There is nothing whatsoever wrong with this pot.
Iconic 60's Poly Perk percolator. Plastic was "in" and Regal from Kewaskum, Wisconsin (who were better known for metal ware and urn style pots used for parties) came up with the Poly Perk! High density plastic that can take the heat is used throughout this iconic pot. The only aluminum parts are the stem and the bottom of the pot. The heater is coated metal and of course the control parts you don't see are all metal. It makes surprisingly good coffee. The heater and thermostat assembly do a good job. Its easy to clean and keep clean. The water levels are molded into the interior and they made the lid to stay on while pouring and also to vent while perking. Despite its plastic you do not taste any "plastic" in your coffee; they really used high density non-reactive plastic. The flowers are a whimsical touch and are on both sides.
All in all a very well manufactured appliance that will last many, many years and makes good coffee!! The original box will come with it packed in another box. The box alone is pretty cool.
