The first Sunbeam automatic vacuum coffee pot. Designed by Alphonso Ianelli in 1938 the first model (this one) was produced from 1939 until 1940 when it was discontinued due to the war effort. This one is in really excellent condition and works absolutely perfect. It has the screw down filter to hold the top in place so you do not have to struggle getting the top undone when brew is finished. The gasket is in excellent shape and with the screw down feature it should last a very, very long time. I am also including a new gasket so it should last forever!! Completely automatic, it heats the water to 204 degrees and builds enough steam to push the water up the tube into the grounds. Steam comes up also and roils the water and grounds for a really great brew. The automatic switch moves to "low" and the bottom cools which then creates a vacuum to pull the water back down into the pot. The filter keeps the grounds where they belong. Makes a wonderful cup of coffee!!
