Description  more details

Superior Electric, Cape Girardeau, Missouri 7 inch waffle iron. Made in the 1920's. This one was made for Reyman Mfg. NY, NY as a "Broadway" model but it was made by Superior Electric. Has a pretty design and is very well made. Wood handles that are turned and the base is made to catch the drips. No thermostat but it cooks and holds temperature fairly nicely as long as you keep cooking. You must unplug it when done or if it gets too hot. The temperature gauge is off on this one and cannot be adjusted but I tell you what temperature to start and what temperature it reads in each position.

This one is not perfect, but it is in really good condition and will work well. Some chrome pitting. It was used a lot, you can tell. But cleaned and re-wired it is ready to make waffles for you for 20 plus years.

12 inches overall width handle to handle and 5 inches high. Plates stay on and are not removable by the user. Just keep them seasoned.

Superior Electric was a family business formed in 1922 and lasted through 1968. In 68 it was bought by United Syndicate and continued "SuperLectric" appliances until the 1980's.
